1736 exano spanish peru coin me and my mom found two of these in a box of old jewelry, they look tarnished but were looking for information about it. can anyone help? it looks like it might be bronze or gold but is definately old. it has a cross on one side with symbols within the squares of it, has words around the border but cannot make out what they say, i think they are cut off. the other side has s symbol and has lettters and numbers within it and says EXANO 1736. can anyone help me who i should take it to, how much it might be worth, and its history? i tried to post a picture of it but cannot figure out how
It's supposed to a 1736 Spanish colonial coin. But given the symmetrical octagonal shape and the general look, I'd have to guess it is a modern reproduction. A fake in other words.
Holiday Brenda..... There are a lot of copy’s made of old Spanish coins. There are a few pretty straightforward signs that are dead giveaways to some of the experienced eyes here on the forum. @BlackBeard_Thatch advice is sound. Post a photo and the experienced eyes here on the forum can let you know in pretty short order if it is real.
