Is this a broken die, or post mint?

I Think it is a defective planchet type of error.

Being around Valentine's Day, maybe it's a Broken Heart?

I'm really torn on this, there is definite corrosion but is the void a planchet flaw or a more serious area of corrosion? The planchets were generally pretty decent on these, but I'd lean toward a planchet flaw.

Yes, I’d be inclined to suspect a planchet flaw rather than any kind of anomaly with the dies.

Assuming that’s even the case, and it’s not just PMD, instead. I really don’t know, but I’d put it down to one or the other: planchet flaw or PMD.
