That’s impressive! Prime number dates would be beyond me. Simply having a 1400’s dated coin is way cool! My earliest is a 1598 3 Brothers, and i just won a 1616 Lion Dollar on eBay, so now I have dated coins from 6 different centuries.

Does anyone know what the most obtainable 1400s coin would be? Also, are there any dated coins from earlier centuries using our dating system?

@KSorbo, @tibor has answers to those questions, I'll bet. Speaking of which, Tibor, did my new Maria of Burgundy previously belong to you?

@ycon That is a really nice piece. I've only sold off duplicates one time
in the last 20 years where Early Dated coins are concerned. That was to
Glenn Schinke at the most recent Denver ANA. The piece that I currently
have in my collection is not quite as nice as yours, so I doubt it. I've only
added a few pieces in the last year with only two upgrades. Do you have
any other pre 1501 A.D. dated pieces? If so start a thread where I and others
    may enjoy them.

The type that I posted (Brabant Dubbele Briquet) is rather obtainable. The auction I bought it in had several. There are a few AD-dated coins in the late 1300s. They are not common, but are the earliest collectible such coinage.

@KSorbo, There are several opportunities to acquire in-expensive
Early Dated coins that use our dating system. The German spitzgroschens
from 1475 and 1477 are available for less than $150 each. The double
briquets of Southern Netherlands can be purchased in the $300 range.
The earliest dated coins using our dating system that can be owned
are dated 1374 and depending upon condition start @ $6000. Jean Elsen
has a mid September auction with some nice selections of briquets and
    double briquets.

Just one! and I've posted it before. Once, specifically in a thread about the date https://www.cointalk.com/threads/whats-your-earliest-dated-coin.320047/

Your reply to the OP was phrased in such a way that I thought maybe that whole group consigned to Roma had belonged to you.

Also, @KSorbo, Levinson is the standard reference for early dated coins if you want to read more about them.

I actually contacted him before the auction went off about his opinion of the coins.
