I couldn't have done it without all of you. Seems to me I just hit the 12,000 mark a short time ago. Thank you all. In honor of this mark I'm posting a few pictures that interest me. Hope you feel the same. Grandfather Mountain, Blue Ridge Parkway, North Carolina My Eagle. He lives with me and we have his nest on the property. A beautiful Bust Half Dollar. My split planchet War Nickel. Both pieces (Halves) are a match. A shell fungus from last year that I found on the property.
Some more that I like. This seagull can't read. A mailbox at Chincoteague, VA. A snowman my friend made a few years ago for passing motorists. It was in Pennsylvania. Natural Bridge, VA One of the 7 natural wonders of the world. I opened my back door a few years ago and there she was. One of my ancient coins. A crab that walked where my feet were a few minutes earlier at Chincoteague, VA. An old steam engine from Casey Jones in Jackson, Tennessee.
A few more. A pyrite (fools gold) fossil. Two off center strikes. From Morocco, an Orthoceras fossil. A manger scene carved out of a calcite rock from Morocco. Fossilized fish from the Green River in Wyoming. Freshwater Herring. You gotta love a nice Bust Half, from my collection. One of the CSA notes that I own. Notice the Treasurers signature. It goes on both notes. The bottom note is also an error note.
My favorite coin I think is the 1944 split planchet pieces that go together. But I also really like the halves as well.
I do love the split planchet nickel and to have both halves... well, it's a great feeling. The slabs are ANACS and they both reference each other.
