+2... I think a lot of folks follow what Capt. Badness posts with interest.. good stuff. That said, I also enjoy RLM's posts and contests in the cent world.... And wings, and robtec's, coppers always please.
oh... and GIjoe,, where did you and these stunning memorials come from !! Have you been hanging out with cladking ? Super coins btw...
Hi bahabully. I just started this collection about 3 years ago. I sold off a lot of raw and slabbed coins to work on this memorial set. I found it easier for me to work on buying top grade slab coins than trying my hand at submitting raw coins. Always seemed to be disappointed with the results after submission and never ever came up with a MS69 coin. Riverguy who is a fellow collector introduced me to this site and I have been impressed and humbled by a lot of the coins that have been posted on here. Some of the toner coins have been amazing. I think all of you should be proud of your collections and I have enjoyed looking at them.
Me too.. here was my one and done attempt to submit a raw ~68'ish memorial cent. I agree for this series, unless the coin jumps out and punches you in the noise, or if you find yourself having a hard time telling if the business coin is a proof or not, then stick with buying them in the slab imo.
Nice coins as always, joe. I am running out of adjectives to describe the brilliance, clear fields, nice devices, and frosty cartwheels your cents display.
Good Morning everyone. Hope you all don't mind doing a little research to see today's offerings. These 2 coins are so new that they just hit the population reports and I do not have them in hand yet but was fortunate enough to add them too my set. You can go to NGC's web site and enter the certification numbers and view the pictures that NGC has of the 2 coins. The first is a NGC MS69RD 1994 cert# 3623766-001 and the second is a NGC MS69RD 1994D cert# 3623766-002. The current population reports are 1 and 3 respectively. I give all of you lots of credit for the ones that can still pick a gem out of searching raw coins. I can't imagine how many Lincoln's I would have had to search and the amount I would of have had to submit too a TPG to get these 2 coins at this grade.
Coppermania; that Cent has to be the most circulated Cent I have ever seen! Thanks for posting this beauty!
You have to look through thousands and thousands to find the super gems. It's even tougher for me because I also demand full steps. Admittedly, I have many non-FS cents because it's nearly impossible to find high quality and FS. Also, in some years the master hub was worn and there are no FS available.
