PCGS MS 65 BN. A scarce grade from them of a coin with this color toning. The coin not the plastic holds true for this coin. This coin has everything I look for in a Lincoln cent. Full strike with full beard, bow tie, wheat lines and all lettering on both obv and rev. Nice transition color in RB that still flashes nice mint luster. No spots and all on a scarce date! The 23 S in MS is tough to locate. This one was in a dealers stock (Jack Baymer) with a stiff price for 3 years that I knew of. With nothing on the market to compare it to, I decided that it was meant to be and finally swallowed hard and stepped up. A year later, I am pleased with the purchase and glad I made the move as this cent can't be beat. 65 RB
I picked this up from Angel Dee's at an ANA showa couple years ago. It fit right in with the rest of my set!
I would intend to agree, 23 was a difficult year to find some really nice pieces that aren't all beat up. Especially a San Fran, even living here in the bay area, they're still tough as nails to find in the dozen or so dealers here.
Wowser 1923 WL. That coin has it all, great strike, loads of detail and boat full of eye appeal. We need more than one Like button for that one.
1923-S, I have several of these in circ grade, no pics of my main collection coin. I forgot what it looks like.
These 3, especially the '24, display really complex toning with rainbow coloring. The S I got from Charmy and was pleased when I got it stickered along with the D. These are the best matched year set I've found!
