Same here, BadThad. All my Lincoln pix are a few years old and need reshooting. But the coins are in a vault offsite. These will have to do for now. My feeling about the 1922 no-D is it is miserable in every grade so I won't pay the price for MS. But I need two, one for my registry set and one for the Dansco. VF will do. The '22-D below is a real red cent. I remember struggling with the photos long ago. Lance.
1921S - I have far too many of these to post! The second coin I sucessfully conserved with VC, it's one of the first coins I tested on. It was covered with a sticky residue, you could barely see the date. It's been in an airtite for over 2 years now to verify the stability of the treatment....looks perfect still today.
I give on the 21-S, too many coins as it's one of my favorite years of the series....there are some nice woodies. 1922
This one is near and dear to me, it was part of my Grandfather's collection. It's in an ANACS VG8 DP1 holder now.....one of my fav coins.
I own about 20 or so 22D's, it's one of my favorites of the series too. When newbies ask about the "weak D", this is the example I usually show them.
I just liked the character of this one. I like dark grime! It kills me when people want to clean a coin like this.
Here's an ebay listing I saved. An excellent example of an improperly conserved coin probably done with olive oil or lemon juice. What a shame!
