Since the driver lives close to Wal Mart, this probably wasn't the first time he parked the truck there. Some enterprising men (or women) noticed the truck being parked at Wal Mart and made plans to steal whatever was in the truck. Again, someone had to know that the truck was carrying something valuable from the Mint and planned ahead for the next truck being parked there.
I guess the driver is going to be getting unemployment payments shortly. There may be some collusion is this heist. I wonder if the Mint will put out a reward. Someone is bound to show up and rat to the cops.

Nah, respectfully disagree. It's not uncommon for thieves to take a bolt cutter to a semi trailer and take whatever they find inside. I doubt these these guys knew they would find bags of coins.

Wait... if these guys are criminal mastermind coin roll hunters, their local banks are used to them returning vast numbers of coins after searching through them. If they are friendly with three or four tellers at three or four banks, they might be able to convert the dimes faster then you'd expect...just be careful to go to a different bank and different teller each day....
    (tongue in cheek mode off)
