Nobody has guessed it yet! Make sure you look through and look at the previous guesses to narrow it down a bit because there have been multiple guesses of a few players. Don't waste your guesses!!!

And given the clues I gave (played in the 80's and/or 90's, not a Tiger, and was a multiple All-Star and is in the HOF) there are probably only 30-35 players that fit the bill.

Great guesses! A couple of the best pressure pitchers in history...although I loved watching Kirk Gibson hitting that homer off of the Goose in the '84 series ;)

The player that is the correct answer was for a short time teammates with the Goose...who is it? ;)

Dave Winfield was my favorite player growing up. A terrific all-around player who hit the ball and played harder than almost any other player I had ever seen. A rare mix of talents, and he just got the job done every day. Really really consistent his whole career, and that shows in his stats.

    12 time all-star
    7 time gold glove winner
    6 time silver slugger winner
    3,110 career hits (20th all-time)
    465 home runs (33rd all-time)
    1,833 runs batted in (17th all-time)
    1,669 runs scored (30th all-time)
    5,221 total baswes (14th all-time)
    XBH 1,093 (19th all-time)

You cannot argue with these numbers. And it was just fun watching him cause he brought it every day...and he was funny-looking when he ran...with those elbows and knees flying all over lol.

I will give you 2 choices as far as your prize.

    1. I had set aside a selection of a few random coins for this purpose. These could be sent to you within a couple days.
    2. You can let me know some types of coins you like and I will make a few purchases at the coin show on Sunday and send them out next week.

Keep in mind I am NOT a millionaire, but you will get a few decent coins...not a bunch of unreadable worn flat buffalos or anything :)

    wait let me think lol!

I'd be happy with either, but my favorite series is Ben Franklin half dollars, heck I'd be more than happy with even one of those. Or I also love mercury dimes, beautiful coins!

Whatever you decide is really fine with me though, very generous of you to run this contest!

Why Morris isn't in the hall boggles my mind. I know the ERA was high, but he was the winningest pitcher of the 80's, won a world series with multiple teams, and if I needed to win one game for all the marbles...there isn't many that I'd rather have on my side.

I remember a game in the world series when he was with the Twins. Morris pitched a 10-inning 1-0 complete game shutout. In the world series! That is brass balls right there.

OK cool. Funny thing is I was going to include a Frankie along with a few other things! I have what I need here so I'll just bundle it up and send it out. I have 2 loooong days at work tomorrow and Wed, so it'll probably go out on Thursday as I don't have the goods with me at work today. Congrats and thanks for taking part! You can PM me your shipping info.

Just want to give back a little because I love this forum :)

That had to of been one of the greatest games ever pitched. Morris just had the IT factor bigtime, and was a big time pitcher his whole career. Despite not having the best stats I really think he deserves hall of fame as well.

I think the veterans committee will eventually put Morris and/or Trammell in. Its just strange that the Tigers were so great in 84 and the only HOFer was Sparky! As great as Tramm was, if I had to pick one of the 2 to get in it is definately Morris.
