what you got there is BAFSV 3rd Series in the amount of one pound
( British Armed Forces Special Voucher) believe or not these are
Common however the 3rd Series might be worth some
Dollars can you post the reverse.

 

When they do that I ask to borrow their pen to check the change they are giving me.
