Are you talking about the new one, or the old one? Can you please explain, or circle the areas that have you concerned? thanks, John
I am concerned about the new coin. The areas are all over the coin centrally -- there is a hazy/lighter area on both sides that covers most of the coin. It looks to my amateur eyes like putty, which is why I suggested you have it looked at by an expert. Being in an ICG holder also makes me suspicious. And for the record, I hope I'm 100% wrong and am being fooled by the photos...Mike
Yeah, brother, all is well here...just really busy at work now and haven't been around as much as usual.
thanks for the input leadfoot. Do you have any photographs of a coin that has been "puttied"? I've heard the term in reference a means of hiding bagmarks and such to make MS-60 look MS-64, but I've never seen it. I'd be curious to learn more about this. I will post some better photos soon. john
I received the coin today. The hazy area was definitely due to the photography. The coin has a very even tone throughout, and has a reddish orange hue. It is also extremely lustrous and has full cartwheels. Here are some updated pictures. The coin is a definite keeper IMO and now resides in my dansco album. My camera tends to make blemishes a lot more noticable than they appear in hand.
