Hi all I'm a coin guy who is going thru collection to thin out my dead ends and buy new stuff. Found this in the wild many years ago. Is it worth more than face ? Would hate to see it destroyed if I just spend it. Thanks for your time
These notes are very common and worth maybe a few dollars over face in this condition, but I wouldn't spend it. Personally, I would just keep it since it's still a cool old note that you got for face. You could try to make a few bucks on it on eBay but remember to factor in the fees.
I agree with @scotts1. If I found it in the wild, I’d keep it but I wouldn’t pay a premium over face value to own it.
