New addition to my collection. I knew the US produced $1 WWII Emergency Currency for Hawaii and North Africa. What I didn't know until very recently was that $5, $10 and $20 notes were also printed. I've had the $1 notes for a while. Now I'm after the others -- at least the ones I can afford.
Nice addition. Rather than label the notes like they did with Hawaii, they simply changed the color of the seals. Let me know if you find a $20. LOL You'd be rich.
Just an observation but may I suggest you purchase a Friedberg catalog or a Krause or a Whitman U.S. currency book?; you can learn a lot from them.
The Friedberg catalog is available for free LEGAL download below. It doesn't have the prices though... http://www.neilsberman.com/currency.htm
I've got the Krause 10th Edition "Standard Guide to Small-Size U.S. Paper Money / 1928 to Date". It's my pre-FRN "go to" guide. Some of the series will have to be bought in the VF grade range; others, not at all. Star notes appear to be in the "not at all" group.
Well, prices mean little from a catalog; perhaps as a "guide" maybe. The important issue is the material IN the book is what's important. Besides, when only an Friedberg number is given it is nice to look it up and see what the note is.
very nice I have an ungraded one in good condition I got several years ago for a little over face [/QUOTE]
