So this post marks my 10,000 post here on CT and I figured I would show a Aquilia Severa upgrade I got a few weeks ago. I had one prior, but it was more of a slot filler, so it ended up getting traded off for a bunch of other ancients & world moderns and I acquired this new one at a very reasonable price. Aquilia Severa (220, & 221-222 A.D.) AR Denarius O: IVLIA AQUILIA SEVERA AVG, Draped bust right. R: CONCORDIA, Concordia standing facing, head left, holding double cornucopia and sacrificing with patera over altar to left; star to right. Rome Mint 19mm 3.02g RIC IV(part 2), pg 47, #226 (Elagabalus)
WOW, Mat! Great milestone... Thanks for all your coin posts and comments. Learned a lot from you. And, perfect that you post an Empress upgrade for a DEAL! Congrats! I am staying away from Empresses now (continuing my playing in the BC RR -and others- side of the pool...), but will pick your brain when I start targeting the Empresses...in the far future...
Thanks Thanks Was told via a dealer on another board that the "Star in Right Field" is scarcer than "left field", which my old one was. Never paid much attention but cool.
Congratulations, Mat! You have 10,000 posts and I think Steve just put up his 10,000th avatar! Just joshing, ancient coin buddy...
I've been stalking Steve's avatar and it has become a bit of a compulsion. I don't catch them all, but so far I've amassed 208 of them via right-click-save . Perhaps I shouldn't have admitted this
Whenever I am going through my Grandkids photos and liking them and saving them in my Daughters' Facebook profiles, they accuse me of being a "Creeper"! Looks like I am not the only one!
He's got a Brady Bunch now. I asked him about it, still waiting for his signature remark. Guy is nuts, needs to be one in every crowd, keeps it lively.
Nice one, @Mat ! Mine has the star in the left field (It didn't photograph well but it's above the patera): 3.18 gm, 19 mm RIC 225; BMCRE 336; Cohen 2; Thirion 476; Sear --
