Found a $1 Star note in pretty good shape. Serial is low 500k. Worth keeping? IMG_20170925_002222641.jpg

True, it's only a buck. Into the stash it goes.

    Keep it for the star.
And its condition appears pretty good.
But the serial number isn't low enough to merit extra interest.

I seem to remember that with the BEP switching over to fifty note presses, star notes will no longer be used. If that is true, I'd keep any star note I could afford to save.

The new 50-subject numbering presses still use star notes. It's planned that the *next* generation presses won't use star notes, but it'll be several years before even one of those presses is installed at the BEP. In the long term, it looks like star notes will eventually be gone, but we're talking about decade timescales here.
