1 oz Uncirculated Gold Eagle on sale at US Mint on May 5 - worth it?

I noticed the 1 oz Uncirculated Gold Eagle is going up for sale from US Mint on May 5. On another site it mentioned there was no mintage limit or household limit. Any thoughts on whether this would be something worth paying the premium for? Or would the 1 oz Proof Gold Eagle be a better option?

    Thanks!

All depends on how many are minted/sold. The previous uncirculated coins from 2006-2008 still hold a premium and a few of them are the rarest gold eagles thus far. The 2007 1/2oz and the 2008 1/4oz coins. Unfortunatly they are only doing the 1oz coin so at $1800 or whatever they are asking it will be a tough buy for many people. Personally I would like to get one but it is a big chunk of dough and I have invested heavily in silver and the ATB program lately so I'm broke. I am hoping gold will come down below $1500 again and they drop their pricing then I will try and get one.

I think the Uncirculated coin will do well but only time will tell weather the UNC or Proof is the better buy.

My recommendation is to wait a while and then look for one already slabbed, but buy it before the mint takes them off the market.
