Hmmm help me understand what I see here. Its a normal looking bill, but when you look at the back, the outer rectangle allows you to see the front, as if bleed thru... you can clearly see the letters from the front, on the back, and the same with the picture of George. What's this error called?
Your first picture is not very good, but it looks like a wet ink transfer. This happens when a sheet does not feed properly and the ink is transferred to the backing plate instead of the paper sheet. The next sheet picks up the ink on the "wrong" side. If you look carefully you will see that the words and picture from the front are reversed on the back. The ink disappears from the backing plate after about 6 to 8 transfers. your bill is towards the last bills to pick up the ink as seen by the very faint inking. Yours looks like a full front to back transfer.
I believe the OP has a very faint Front-to-Back offset transfer and it’s causing the back of the note to appear to be framed by a ghost image. The ghost image on the back of the note is actually the front image transferred to the back.
You can replicate this with hairspray. Spray the front of a new bill, lay another on the top then clamp them together. The ink separates from the hairspray and offsets on the back of the other bill. There are other chemicals that work as well.
I voted too much ink. In reality its probably just the fact that they are cranking out the Bill's so fast that the ink isn't fully dried before cutting. Called offset... Not that I'd know anything about that
Looks like there is good money in graded errors (Cough cough cough) This one sold on ebay recently Hmmm, $2 Bill's should bring 2x the money ( yes?)
And that is only a partial transfer. Well graded error notes go for good money. And star note errors go for even better money.
Thanks again for the responses! It clear tho, what you see is the front thru the back, not ink transfer. Bill is off and too thin, and just like the one on ebay...thing is mine goes around the whole rectangle, the ebay one is only partial. Does that mean more money?
