$1 Bill with an X serial number

    In around 1995 when I was a toll collector we found loads of x prefix bills at the Mid-Hudson Bridge in Poughkeepsie to Highland, NY

    Actually, TheFinn had it right: the motto was added in 1957, starting with Series 1957. The 1935G and 1935H notes with the motto were printed several years later.

    (But why we're suddenly having this conversation in a six-year-old thread is a mystery to me....)
