OK - I guess your thoughts would be "Don't buy the label. Then I've heard "Buy what you want" - so I combined the 2 and bought this - my first gold coin purchase in over 5 years - I just thought it looked nice and bought into the label - plus MS 70, what the heck - only 20$ over what a raw BU was going for at the time.
Also waiting to save up for the Gold Merc on April 21.

For such a small premium over raw, why not? Nice coin!

I'll be damn - after looking at this coin under the scope it has a die crack - is this still MS 70 or worth more with the crack?

  9. I believe that by definition a coin cannot grade a 70 with a visible imperfection. However, you needed strong magnification to see it so may be okay. Some people actually like die cracks and collect them, but bullion may be an exception to that. TC

Looks like a good pickup, congrats. Anytime you can get a nice 69 or 70 over just slab cost of a raw why not.

$20 over a raw BU but what was that over the fractional bullion amount ?

The question is how much the slabbed 1/10th cost over spot bullion in percent. You probably paid a pretty penny but I've done that too.

If you like the coin, fine. Just don't make a habit of it. :D
