    Is it BN, RB, or RD?

    Numismedia has a BN in that grade valued at $1230, and PCGS lists the value at $1250.

    Since it doesn't say and i have never seen an RB or RD given out under ms 60 i will say BN.

    The price guides list them as I stated before.

    Average price for completed sales on eBay, $1184.98, for only 4 that sold recently and the price range was $1033.99 - $1250.

    There are plenty of XF coins with traces of mint lustre...which makes this rather odd.

    We're talking about color of the coin, not mint luster.

    RD=Red
    RB=Red Brown
    BN=Brown

    Actually, there are some Lincolns out there that are color graded below MS. Not a lot and I have only seen AU coins, but they exist. From Heritage;

    Interesting.... do any of the major TPG's actually indicate this on their slabs?

    I'm assuming from the lack of any listed in either's price guide in RD or RB, would indicate that neither has slabbed an 09S in any color but BN, lower than BU.
