£1000 coin

That issue is one reason why I stay away from non-circulation commemoratives. I believe the Queen has to give the okay on any British coins that are issued for general circulation.
That particular one is a travesty of both their likenesses and is obviously one of so many produced by various mints worldwide to cash in. Just look at some of the Princess Diana commemoratives issued worldwide.
Now I'm not a royalist but I would much rather have a reasonable likeness of anyone featured on a coin.
So if they ever managed to stike one with a good likeness of her sister? Now that would be one I'd buy!
