I just remembered my book written by Tomaska in 1991 called "Cameo and brilliant proof coinage of the 1950 to 1970 era". This paragraph re: the...
The coins in question were the 65, 66, and 67s. They were struck from polished and acid dipped business strike dies. No care was taken and there...

Still never seen FS on any SMS...only close. They get an MS designation, not a PF.
I can only hope you can find one in FS, as that would give me incentive to locate one myself. That's the first thing I look for on an SMS nickel....
I don't think it's used because there aren't any.
Nice eye appeal and graded properly. Obv. should show more detail for higher grades.
That's a nice SMS...close to FS, but no SMS has received a FS designation that I know of.
Here we go...63/64...a blind guess.
I give up trying to see thru toning!
Feeling more generous today so I'll change my guess to 64*/64+ on #3
Out on an Easter rum nog...64/64 on #3:joyful:
I thought 63*/ 64 on the 83-0...I agree with 62/62 on the 90.
Are you sure that's a proof and not a business strike?
Makes just as much sense as a photo mistake becoming a Mule.:woot:
No sense of humor?
Got mine today...fabulous!
They say some Indian spirts were shape shifters back in those days.
