There's quite a few as it's hard to render a women's face when portraying her whole body on a small coin . If we're going by face I 'd go with...
Yours is a Type II/II Trade Dollar which is common for the date and Mint . That said I've never seen any with raised sections like yours has ....
Must be the high relief . Or the history . But I do know I will get more . ;)
Like Paddy said it could be done by a mint worker with too much time on his hands , the problem though if a die was marked there would be plenty...
I wouldn't have gambled with the pics that were given . But she's so much better in your pic . Nice pick up .
I've loved them since I got my 1st a Gordian , iirc . The pull is great to get a Greek coin too . I might just sell a couple of my US coins .
Cleaned and not MS , kind of ugly in the pic and I don't say that often . I'd leave it unless you can get her for $8 .
I agree with Rick .............again !!!!! ;)
Nice , coins . Time to get another Roman Republican coin to build my ancient collection to 5 . lol
61 , I like the color except for the face .
I think our minds tend to matrix images out of random spots . Sort of like seeing a face in a stain on the wall . It's very common .
Nice pick up for $10 , looks MS with some decent color on the reverse .
I'll go AU-53 because it still has most of it's luster .
Beautiful coin and a great writeup .
Hopefully after Monday night .;)
67,64,65,64 .
One great design , like derk said a lot better than the revised type 2 . What's great about the '17-P is that most are FH and very well struck .
Nice find , keep looking as there's doubled dies not found yet . Good luck !!!!!
I don't collect large cents , but it still looks funny to me . Especially the date and the word cents .
Ditto !!!!!
