I just took a better look at the area. The curl of the C is barely there, it's very faint.
I was low on funds at the time. I wasn't able to buy one.
Could be just die deterioration, those type of pimples are most common on fakes.
As a cleaned coin it could have been heavy corrosion that ate the surface. Could be just die deterioration. Hard to tell in the state of preservation.
