Not a cud - that's for sure Looks like a small rim ding on the edge where that 'extra' metal is.
Post-Minting Damage, as well as the circular wheel marks from a counting machine.

Good video of it being done !
Maybe not a dryer coin, but definitely 'tapped' on the edges, and abused surfaces.
Damaged on both sides. What you see occurred after the coin was already in circulation.
Not painted or plated. Looks like it was cleaned, that's why the surfaces are lighter, aka: pink, as you mentioned.
Yes, small die crack.
First I've heard of a so far off center cent coming out of a coinstar machine. Great catch !
I see two diff. cents, none have errors that I can see, and one is damaged. Can you tell us what you see as a possible error on each coin?
As above - copper plating bubbles, imo.
That isn't Dime reeding.
What should we be looking at/for ?
Also agree - looks like the coin was struck from worn/overused dies, and it's been 'tapped' on the edges.
No, it's a very minor mis-aligned obv. die. No value as an error, as it's waaaay too small a mis-alignment for any collector, imo.
.....as would I...... ... enviornmental stains Folks, not all coins, especially cents, don't stay the same color after being released into the...
No, it's a 'hit' or contact mark over the MM
I agree with Alurid - at best, it's a minor lamination strip in that area. It has not been struck thru cloth or tape or anything, imo.
A better closer photo would be helpful, but it doesn't look like a die crack from the one obv. photo. The 'line' is dark, and doesn't look raised.
I must be the THEARD one then.
