Very nice coin! All of the Caribbean FAO issues are at a nice premium.
I made maximum use of it on a non-coin purchase and saved US$80.
The original few years, the proof packaging was purple.

I would leave the coin alone. You have to remember, this bronze proof coin is 63 years old. It will invariably not keep a pristine appearance.
