That was my point. How can someone put up 5K to a seller with no sales record. God bless 'em if the sale goes through, but I doubt it.
Great notes Rick, and great to hear from you.
Any ideas what the hand and the thorns mean? Nice piece!
The oldest I could find of the same basic design, but from a different bank, was signed and dated 1805. I don't have any reference books on...
I guess it have to be this 1862 Fractional note [IMG]
I was following this sale on Ebay just for kicks....
Those threads are from 2004
The rust stain would have put me off too Chris. Glad you got the chance to p/u some bullion instead, but fear not, here's a neat pair from next...
The 1950E NY note carries a small premium in VF cond. They only printed 3 districts in that series B,G,L,. Something to ponder.

I'll drink to that :mouth: !
It never ends my friend, it never ends.............
Those are cents, not dollars ;)
Thanks Duke, sometimes they show up when you least expect it. Good luck on yours.
My latest Cleveland p/u just arrived. The margins are kinda weak, but the price was right and it's nice and crisp. [IMG] [IMG]
Connor, it is very similar to this Costa Rica note.... [IMG] [IMG]
I own 2, but would like to get more.... [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]
Sweet note Chris. I have to admit, i don't own any repeaters/ radars/ ladders or such for Cleveland, i'll have to look harder.
Actually Payton, the auction ends tonight, and the CGA note at the moment is getting top bid.
All very nice Grim, great job. I've got some coming later this week.
