That's the first NGC photos I've seen. Not too bad I guess....I've seen worse. I'd say MS65. The obverse is very attractive.
Have to love the MS66 Morgans graded by these self slabbers going for 64-65 money. Most are pretty obvious AU's too. If you have money to burn...
Scan: [IMG] Photo (crappy but you get the idea): [IMG] There is one type of scanner that can get decent scans of both coins and slabs. Can't...
PCGS has four proofs listed that are from non-Philly mints: 1879-O 1883-O 1893-CC 1921-S I do not know the story behind them.
I concur. Seems to have a little extra eye appeal (may be the lighting), could give it that extra "bump".
They need to move to Ohio and hire me darn it! Good for NGC though. They are probably my #1 grading company. Will use them sometime in the future.

I agree. Weak strike which is giving the coin the extra worn look. VG price wouldn't be too far off. I've seen worse graded as VG by the top three...
You could expect VF/XF money out of that coin if sold at auction provided the reverse is in the same grade as the obverse. The ding really hurts.
If it didn't have the zinc spots I'd put it closer to $7. I see dateless cents like yours without the zinc spots for $5 at a local show all the...
There is a 1980 DDO variety but it doesn't look like yours. Interesting find. I'm not much of an error collector. Can't find my guide to Lincoln...
Everyone pretty much hit the nail on the head. It's kind of like "well the coins are at NGC, might as well slab them and slap a label on there....
Walker - 64 78 Morgan - AU55-MS60. I'm bad in the AU range. 78 CC Morgan - Looks to be close to a 64 in the pictures. +/- a point in hand. Is that...
Save them and use them to pay for gas. Nothing like handing over $25 in dollar coins. ;)
I would have went with a 62, shot at a 63 on a good day. Congrats on getting a 64 out of it though.
I will not buy a coin that is called a "First Strike" just because of the name. Although I do own one, it was because the price of the coin was...
Coins in slabs really don't bother me. Anything that belongs in a slab is in an air-tite or album in my collection. Either way the coins surfaces...
In bullion value, in collecting value that number can be doubled. I've already seen someone on Ebay preselling their set for $3,400.
*Writes down user name* Thanks for giving me the heads up on who not to buy from. ;) Mansfield, Ohio eh? I'm going back to that area...
Isn't flat rate now $8.10? That was the only kind of box my post office had when I wanted to send out a large box of plants. Ended up going home...
