I would be interested to know what he has into this collection
I would go check them out....bring cash and a loupe. Hide the cash though.....if the 1802 is a,fake....offer 300 for the remainder.... Who knows...
I've had some pretty good luck on eBay.....bought a few risky coins but in the end never got screwed. I have a tendency to buy the more expensive...
Very nice pics...nice collection..thanks for posting
I was noticing nothing higher than 65..... Even if I would get a grade of 64... I would be quite happy....
The coin is still in the plastic holder.....some of that is on the plastic The only marks noticeable with naked eye are the indent on 8 and mark...
If you offer returns then it doesn't matter what the buyer thought about the grade....just give him the money back because you offered that...
I bought about 25 this year. A mixture of slabbed and raw. Not sure why you'd break out a slabbed coin to put into an album....seems like that raw...
What grade is it
66 would be max.....I have some slabbed 64, 65, 66 gold coins around the same year......the finish on this coin is a cut above those....almost...
a few of the marks are on the plastics....pretty clean otherwise.
here's a pic...it's a 1879s half liberty.....I either paid 400 or 450 for it...have another 1879s...back in 2011 when gold was 1500/oz
As far as grading the coin.....the reverse shows a lot of fine line indicating a harsh cleaning. The detail is hard to evaluate..... I'm thinking...
Yes....and that can give you the confidence this one is real......to bad the seller is the fake
When I was looking at some other capped busts I noticed this one with very similar die clash...
It's strange....it like two coins were pressed against each other ....but one coin was smaller.....then the coin was struck.
Yeah. They backed out on another sale also....they only had a rating of 27..... This is a pretty low rating to trust for a sale of 5,000 range
Quarter eagle gold coin......gold is very low now
Strike is very weak......ms61
I was unable to make my mind up on this one....I have an 1803/2 one to compare it with.... I just wasn't confident enough this to go for...
