You may be counting the base of monticello. Yours looks pretty close to 6FS. Looks like a small merge on 5 & 6 in the lower left-hand corner.

Acetone works very well on glue and such on metals. I've never experienced any type of conflict with any agents.

I have found haze on a few coins, proofs mainly. Dipping will not work and haven't seen anything that does. It's either live with it or sell it.

I think clips have a more pronounced edge. I could be wrong but it looks like pmd to me.
