what would rank a better grade: a bill thats slightly worn and folded a crisp bill with an ink stain on the edge
another guess would be corrosion under the plating

try collecting star notes of different years and different denominations!!!
keep looking... there are definately great ones out there
if you hold it up to the light and the words line up, i think bleed through... if misaligned, it's ink from another bill

this is exactly what i do... i'm not good at christmas, i love opening unknown possible surprises and safely storing them in plastic rolls.
