If they were able to create enough even pressure... Yes. In this case however they just didn't smash them hard enough to transfer completely.
Because when they smashed it in a vice they weren't able to get even pressure to transfer the design completely.

Well it is not an error. It is most definitely man made damage meant to resemble some sort of error. I have literally seen hundreds of these....

I see the comparison but the rounds look to be selling for $4700+ per kilo... At $149 an ounce... That's a really hefty markup for a consumer metal.
