You're right about that in Canada you have the looney and the twooney. Not sure of the spelling - but they have a 1 dollar and a 2 dollar coin.
The coinstar I go to does take 1/2 dollars but they keep 9.8 cents per dollar, a high price to pay for the convenience.
Went through $10.00 in nickels today, found 1 1953 and a Canadian 1959. Lots of 1964 and newer, but I already have way too many of those.
Did my wife put you up to asking that question? She wonders why I go gaga over nickels that are still in circulation. I just like nickels older...
