AU details, but it is not going to get a real grade with that scratch. It looks dull too - possibly cleaned a long time ago. Or maybe a bad pic.
I would not bid, but based on the pic, it should be covered under Buyer Protection if it isn't a CC.
LOL what a nut.
What a scumbag. But then the people bidding on it without doing minimal research aren't too bright either.
Fire damage.
It looks too smooth to me. Like someone ground it down and polished out the tool marks. You could weigh it to confirm.
It was struck by a very worn out die.
Cool coin. I bet you could make your money back from the set with that one coin, so you didn't really lose anything by opening it.
There have been a few of these presidential sets posted here where people swore the marks were on the coin, but they ended up being on the inside...
One in similar condition just sold on eb@y for 7 bucks.
It's too blurry, but I would guess it's about VF.
It's within mint specs.
@James, Why did you even reply if you weren't going to answer his questions or contribute anything to this thread?
The obverse drags it down to a 64 grade IMO. Too bad, because the reverse looks like a 67!
63. Maybe 64 if you get lucky.
Just send it in! (IMO)
Rolling machine damage.
PMD took a hit on the MM.
I haven't seen anything like that, but I'm not really into Kennedy halves. It does look like die deterioration ghosting, which is common on wheat...
The dime has a reeded edge and was not struck off-center. It is within mint specs unless it's a partial collar. I can't tell from the pics.
