I take that back - I had 1 claim a couple of years ago where I mailed a plastic scale model to a guy and the driver dropped another package on it...
Never had an issue. Never had a claim, lost item or a failure to deliver...and the best part? Of all the MM I've mailed no one knows what was MM...
And my g/f is an OIC. MM is no issue for a book or album....

I ship MM 95% of the time...you will have no problem.
What's not fair about it? It qualifies as MM and is the 'most cost effective' as per the OP. Beyond that, most mail 'takes forever' right now...
Media Mail will do the job. Pack it well....the USPS is really busy these days - lots of stuff flying around their distribution centers.
I've picked up a few here and there lately but paid what they're worth, just have to be diligent in shopping...lots going for much more it seems.
