Maybe I'm wrong on this one, but I am highly suspicious of a seller who has a number of coins, buffalos for example, that all have the same...
1. Shield cent 2. Wheat cent 3. (a very distant 3rd): Memorial cent
I gave up nickel roll searching 2 years ago, but today I caved into the urge to try a few rolls again. My results ($ 20): 1940 P 1952-D...
Since you asked, here goes: Ike dollar, Kennedy half (great rev though), washington quarter, Roosie dime, Jeff nickel, and Lincoln cent. Oh, and...
Speaking of nickels, isn't the current reverse the oldest rev on our coins? Isn't it due for a makeover? My candidate is the buffalo design...
More presidents, no way. I'm with people who contributed significantly to our history, culture and national identity. MLK would be a good start.
Just curious here, how common is it to find 1970 to 1974 S cents in circulation? I see that several hundred million were made each year for...
Just eliminate the cent, except a few for collectors, (they would make a mint selling those, so to speak) and the dollar bill. Make vending...
A 1907 Liberty nickel in a roll. Worn, but it was all there. I also got a Barber quarter a few years back in a coin return, but it was worn so...
I like roll searching as much as the next guy, but I have seen no thread just for circulation finds. My finds from change are infrequent, but fun...
A few months ago, I actually found a '38 S in change. Also found the '50 D in a roll search. Besides those, I still need the same ones you do....
Buffalo nickel, Walking liberty half, standing liberty quarter. Indian cents are pretty easy on the eyes as well.
Wow...I couldn't disagree more......
These always make me laugh. How could they know they are all full date coins, all IHC's, all this or that, etc if someone didn't check them?
It's a tie: Ike dollar, Jefferson nickel and Roosevelt dime. Hideous. Get the presidents off our coins, and bring back the Liberty designs.
I agree, the buffalo is one of the best designed US coins....my favorite anyway. I surely do not think that is a restored date, and yes, I think...
No velvet lined presentation case...... or certificate of "authenticity"?? Count me out! :D
I thought that tapping a genuine US silver dollar or half will result in the familiar ringing sound. Is this a reliable test?
I have an 1855 large cent my grandparents found while remodeling their home in the early 1900's
Just curious here, if this a silver plated fake, wouldn't it lack the distinct ring of a genuine half dollar when tapped?
