I'm trying to get my inventory in order. For many of my large cents, if the Newcomb Number wasn't on the slab, I just socked the coins away to ID...
Yep. Early nickel coins were famous for their die cracks. Nickel is a harder metal and the Mint had trouble getting used to it.
Thanks for the reference.
Hmmmm, I would have expected a significantly greater Blakesley Effect with a clip that large. But that's not my bailiwick.
Heck, I think a 64 would be a reasonable possibility.
It would help if you could be more specific about the particular paper money items you're interested in. Country? Issue? Face value?
Yeh, getting a $500 and a $1000 bill are in the back of my mind. But they are low priority items.

I am an EAC member and I went to this year's St Louis EAC convention. I got two coins from their auction. I also got to meet Ed Fuhrman. I...
Items that are coming "in the mail" for me aren't coins. They are US $1 bills. One of my collections is US Small-Sized $1 bills from Series 1928...
My intent is to go ONLY after slabbed coins. I'm finding that 10-20% over Greysheet is NOT sufficient to win most bids. So I'll have to rethink...
