I must have missed the part of coin collecting where I was supposed to make money collecting coins.
I thought it was because I was attracted to shiny things.
It looks like a cast replica to me. The pitting and the apparent casting metal flow on the bottom of the coin really screams fake to me.
I agree with lordmarcovan, it is a keeper. I see it as a piece of history that has gone through many hands.
Mintage of 392 million, condition I would guess at AG 03. Value 10-15 cents.

I agree with longnine. I have not seen the use of the word scrape before in descriptions. Usually the descriptions say scratch, nick or gouge.
I think they should have had non-precious metal versions minted and included with the yearly mint sets and proof sets.
