Just an update. This coin graded MS61 Wire Rim today at NGC.
Your gonna need to provide pictures if you want a true idea of value. Without them... It's just a guess... And you'll find that many folks are...
Thanks for participating everyone and congrats to paddyman98!
I'd say with almost certainty that the OP coin was a mint set coin. I've bought and sold hundreds of these sets and for every monster toned half...
You know... Been doing errors and varieties for 25 years or so... Bought my first car with money I made cherry picking... Haha!
64 in a top tier holder... 65 in an old ANACS holder. The toning is just kinda "bleh".
Well I'm a shop owner and my opinion is that it is just a normal business strike 1960 cent.
The host coin to me appears to be counterfeit... It just has the look of older cast counterfeits.
I've had luck with it in low concentrations removing corrosion and rust. Mostly on military items which are usually steel.
I agree completely... I guess the point of my question mark was lost on everyone but myself.
Oxalic Acid?
Details... Improperly cleaned
Why isn't the end coin toned? Because it's a put together roll.... That's why.
Annnnnnd I totally forgot to do it... I'll get it tomorrow.
Enough! Discuss the coin in a civil manor... or don't discuss it at all.
Deep breaths guys.... just because someone does not share your view is not a reason to get hostile. Respectfully disagree and move on.
Got it back in the mail this morning. I tried to take some honest pictures of the coin... as sometimes my pictures make marks appear far worse...
I've got one in my safe. I'll post a pic in the morning.
This coin wasn't dipped... Not a chance...
That's about enough of that...
