Looks like NGC VF-35.
Two dimes glued together. People do this to try to make it appear as an error. As you can see, it sometimes works!
Sorry, no value. Not an error, just a dime with some glue on it. You can probably remove it with your fingernail.
Good job on the pictures by the way! Good pictures help a lot.
Don't see a doubled die. Appears to be edge damage, possibly by a coin counting or wrapping machine.
Just well used! Hard to believe it is 42 years old. I was already a collector for several years when they came out.
Sorry to say, just looks like damage on a well worn quarter. Keep looking - you will find something good one day!
You mentioned that you can almost see it with the naked eye. Keep in mind that mint marks are visible without magnification. If you need to...
Quite common actually. They were all the rage in 1960, and therefore saved in large quantities. Readily available by the roll.
No, the value does not justify the expense. Nice quarter though! VF-30
You got it exactly right!
Unfortunately just heavy damage.
There are two folders before that: 1909 - 1940 and 1941 - 1958
Don't go! We try to help....
Very nice acquisitions! Good start to a nice collection.
That goes along with the clip. Insufficient metal to fill the letters completely in that area.
Not too surprised. It is a pretty tiny clip. Glad you caught it!
Usually when somebody posts about a coin in a mint set it is just damage that occurred during the packaging process. Good to see a real error coin...
Much better. Definitely looks like a small curved clip, a minor mint error. Again, an interesting item and not too often seen in mint set...
Retail on the 1883 is around $5 and around $1 for the 1899.
