It's a matter of survival. The Proofs got saved and well taken care of for the most part while the MS coins mostly got spent. I don't have the...
Great haul! Around $14 face value.
Let's hope it is MS. In the Graysheet, assuming a grade of 64, a MS-64 is $775 and the Proof-64 is only $650. Not a large difference.
The only possibilities are 6, 7, or 8 (large date). Looks most like a 7 given the three options.
Pretty sure it is 1972-D.
You are right. Could be almost anything. The dime has been through a lot in 50 years.
Sorry, just a worn quarter, likely struck from worn dies.
Value is easy... 10 cents. Many things can cause that kind of discoloration, but it does not add value. Your dime is just a normal 1968...
A die crack is visible as a raised design element. That being the case, it would be one of the first elements to get worn off on a circulated coin...
Looks like a nice VF-30 or EF-40. Not worth sending it in, but still a keeper.
The 6 looks funky. Any chance of closer up pictures of the date?
Uncirculated or close to it as far as details go. You may be able to get a few $ over melt value from somebody who wishes to make it back into a...
Looks like a nice die chip to me. Nice find and good eye catching that.
Not really a cud error, just an eroded, worn out die. They used 1964 Jefferson nickel dies within an inch of their lives, and sometimes beyond.
Just normal and scuffed up. Good job on the pictures by the way!
Possibly some contamination (sneeze) before it was sealed in the case? Type 1 mint mark.
No, just a normal 2000. No mint mark = Philadelphia.
That's a GREAT find! I love doubled dies that you don't need 20x magnification to see. Good job on the close up photo too! Keep up the search....
Picture is a bit fuzzy but I would say large date.
Yes it is! Spectacular. Fabulous color too.
