While this variety (N.5, R3) is known for die rust/pitting, this example has environmental damage. Possibly a dug coin. More likely just corroded...

I use the sleeves and they're perfect. No need to remove them to fit PCGS or NGC coins in their boxes. As for the scratch resistant NGC holders...
