Maybe, but I'm referring to the mint mark. Altered? Fake?
I wrote to him via ebay saying it looked like a 1919 and he wrote back saying he was considering getting it slabbed. Who cares any more? Not me....
What do you think of the mint mark on this coin on ebay? Does it look funny?...
Not exactly sure why people are calling him a troll. Just because his opinion differs? He may be wrong, but I believe he is convinced he is right....
Thanks for the detailed analysis. I wish you could put arrows to show what you are describing. It's hard to follow exactly for me. These do look...
[IMG] Does that look like a "V"?
Is anyone familiar with the Bowers guide books, like the one of Walking Liberty half dollars? Do they go into much more detail than the Mega red...
Ah, so there is the motivation. I looked at it on ebay and the photo is better for me for some reason. Looks like a "1" on ebay ironically.

The mint sets don't go into circulation but the coins that make them up are the same as circulating coins. Proofs are not.
Mint sets are uncirculated versions of the same coins that are minted to be circulated. Proof coins have never been meant to be circulated and...
I'm looking for a 1948 uncirculated for close to red book price. Not having any luck. Prices seem to have really climbed since that last red book!
That is a very nice looking coin. MS64. So how can an ugly one like this be MS61?...
Thanks! I'm about to order it.
