these could be the answer: - vanuatu 50 vatu - french polynesia 50 francs ... and i believe they are still in circulation.

yes, the cuauhtemoc 5 pesos silvers... along with the hidalgo 5 pesos silvers of the '50s were among the largest circulating coins...
if we're referring to the 'largest' circulating coin of 20th Century, then i guess it was the crown-size coins of the commonwealth countries......
i don't think so ... all the IoM copper-nickel crowns i encountered so far are UNC.
