Another idea: come up with your own @Burton Strauss III sticker to put on top of each slab that will identify it as "bottom of the barrel basement...
If they are taking up too much space and you are worried about these flooding the bay in 20 years, then I'm ok with just keeping the oldest/newest...

My thought process is that if I'm skipping all the mint marks/dates of the same design, then I'd also skip the varieties (with star, 2x2, etc)....
