Than you very much everybody for your opinions - this really helps me greatly, specially with coins like this with some issues.
I agree! I wonder 1811/09 dimes have been undergraded.
The large 8 variety is much less scarce than the small 8. Nice coin - were it not for the obvious nicks, hairlines scratches and other defects....
This is a very nice coin with deep blue tones. [ATTACH]
Thank you for your opinion! That is my opinion as well - the weak periphery reflects the weak strike due to the die breaks, while the center...
Thank you for the advice! That is very interesting. I really wish I had any experience with submitting coins - I'm chicken (maybe lazy), and keep...
Unlike the first example I posted, this one was struck when the 1809 die employed was already heavily broken. Such coins are not easy to grade as...
So, friends, ICG graded this F15. You all had it right - VF 20, take away a few points for the light scratch on the leg thus F15. [ATTACH]

Thanks![ATTACH]

I have also tried subdued lighting, unfortunately that does not work either. ChatGpt says iPhone cameras are just too sensitive for close-up phtos...
Thank you very much! I was also very surprised when I came across this coin - Finding U.S coins in Europe has become much more difficult in the...
Sorry I didn't reply before. I'm curious, which Morgan dollar was it? I don't collect them, but do know there are several dates which are highly...
I just use a Cannon 200SX camera and daylight - no lamps. This is an old camera you can now buy for about 200 euros. I sometimes need to shoot up...
ANACS graded this coin EF45. Now, I'm not good at grading above VF, but it does seem to me EF45 is a bit low. I've had this coin for about 20...
Yet another of those tricky to shoot half dimes. This one with intense multi-colour toning. I happen not to agree with the assigned grade, but...
A large and lighter picture of the obverse. [ATTACH]
