I think Clint is correct. The date looks too bold as compared to the rest of the details on the obverse. Everything shows wear but the date.
The eye looks like it took a hit. The doubling is a worn die. Stick with. Sooner or later something will click for you.

Most collectors do not want these however there are a few that do since they are not supposed to be there. They should be trimmed off. Not sure...
