AU is almost uncirculated. They just show a small amount of wear. I don't recall saying anything about the condition of your coin or grading it....

I would pass on this coin due to the scuff marks and the ugly toning.
It's from a worn die. All the doubling I see is NAV doubling.
You are correct that it is damaged. And notbin a dryer. It looks too good for that.
My comment would be no, it appears to be a small die chip that's worn.
