I just got an email about this. It is so absolutely ridiculous that I can't believe NGC is stooping so low. Shameful. Next they'll offer to make...
I still don't think they are terribly common - and I'd wager there are less of them undesignated in PCGS holders than you might think. Collectors...
If it drove down the price of NGC PL coins, that would be a fantastic result for me. However, my fear is that with this publicity, all PL coins...
This will be key, and I hope they publish it. I'm very happy that they are starting to do this - I know that I'm not the only one asking for it!...
That spotty toning is not the most attractive in my opinion. What really rules out the star for me, though, is the dark/terminal toning at the top...
Thanks! It's kind of funny to see a ten year old thread pop up like this, but I'm glad that someone is still getting value out of it!

Steve, I'm not familiar with the effects of the finishes you mentioned. They may be perfectly fine - but I'd be hesitant to build cases without...
I agree that this is a very attractive coin, but that speckled, mottled toning is not something that attracts a star. No star for the toning....
I don't see 60's with stars often, but I like it.
