They ate a terrible looking coin. The design is okay but could be better. The zinc core with a thin copper coating is what makes it poor.

It’s a Misaligned Die strike more commonly called a MAD. They are common in all denominations.
No, I buy the Whitman’s folders from my LCS. They sell the used ones for $1.00 each and they work fine for me. :)

It’s not a D/D. On a Cent with this date they are unmistakable. You don’t even need magnification.
